I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Apple (Baltimore, MD) in Jul 2010
Interview
The interview process was rather long, consisting of 4 total interviews, and a group seminar in the beginning. Each interview was with a different manager from the different areas of the store. There were some redundancies in the interview questions, but I think it's more so for consistency in your answers. Be yourself, and do not try to impress. They want to see that you fit more in to the culture of the store than based off of your knowledge of product/services.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to handle an unruly customer.
It’s a very long process so have patience. Sometimes they will give you feedback but if you are external you will just receive a turn down email. Keep applying. Apple says it’s not a NO. It’s a not now and that’s very true.
Famously competitive as always, my odds were better since I kept updating my resume whenever I was on the job search. They reached out to me first by email, I completed an application, and then had three rounds of interviews in total.
