I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cerritos, CA) in Jul 2010
Interview
So I first applied online for multiple positions at Apple Retail. I herd that everyone usually has to start as a "Mac Specialist" and then work up the food chain. A couple of days later, I got an e-mail from the hiring manager at the Apple Store notifying to attend a "Invitation-Only Recruiting Seminar". So the next day, I attended the seminar. In addition to myself, approximately 25 other candidates were there plus 3 Apple Store Managers. We were escorted to a room with seats and a projector. We then had to listen to the Mangers introduce themselves. We then introduced ourselves in front of the other candidates and the Mangers. We then watched these two videos:

After each video, we were asked what we liked about the videos and to add comments about them. (This is your time to basically show that you aren't afraid to talk in front of people and are willing to speak out!, So don't be shy). After a back and forth conversation we were then told that we had to prepare a mini-presentation with a person sitting next to us (Nothing to big, no boards or anything, just speaking in front of everyone). We were given small cards with statements that customers would say when they walked into an Apple Store. We were asked to act out, what we would do when asked these statements. And basically that was it. We then just had to answer basic questions about availability and which Apple products we currently used. We were then told that if they wanted to pursue us as a candidate, then we would get a call back for a one-on-one interview. Took about 1 hour and half. Piece of cake!
That same day, I got a call back form the Manager asking me if we could meet for a one-on-one interview the next day. I gladly accepted and went to the interview. When I went to the interview I thought I had to meet with only one person, but ended up talking to two different managers. One manager asked me questions like "Why do you want to work at Apple?" and "How would you handle multiple customers in the store?" (basically background info and what you can provide for the Apple Store. The other manger asked me all questions about which Apple products I use and explain some others in detail. Took about 30 minutes! Then I was told that I would be receiving a call in the next week notifying me if they wanted to either hire me, ask for another interview, or pass on me.
And Exactly a week later, I got a call and was told that I got the Job!
