Interview
Same application process as most banks.
Starts with
1. Online application with competency questions such as What differentiates barclays, what recent development has affected barclays, and why are you interested in the division you applied to?
2. Online testing, basic SHL Numerical and Verbal
3. Phone interview again basic phone interview mainly competency questions asking for competencies such as leadership, teamwork, and of course motivations on joining Barclays. No technical questions were asked during this stage.
4. Assessment Centre, this consisted of a group exercise and two additional 1 on 1 interviews with some of barclays senior bankers.
Group exercise was simple debt or equity financing where you worked alongside 3 other candidates and you had to present afterwards. While the 1 on 1 interviews mainly asked for competency questions, motivations to join barclays, some basic technical questions, and a few brainteasers, however nothing at all detailed. E.g they will not ask you to do a DCF or explain an LBO analysis.
Overall very structured and efficient interview process.

If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and put in a blender what would you do?
Asked Technicals for 30 mins straight then a few behaviorals scattered in their as well. Got reffered by an associate then got the first round it was honestly a pleasant experience
It was a tough interview process which required two components the first of which was a 45 minute interview followed up by a 75 minute case study interview. There was a 15 minute gap in between

I took the online assessment a week ago. It consists of a cognitive test (about 15 minutes, many questions with repetitive questions), and easy Math questions. Not getting the rejection letter, but still waiting for the response
