Engineering Intern, Advanced Powertrain Concepts Department Interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bosch (Farmington Hills, MI) in May 2011

      Interview

I was contacted by the hiring manager on phone to schedule an interview the following week . She mentioned that it would be a mix of technical and behavioral. I prepared for the behavioral aspect of the interview by looking up all the STAR based questions I possibly could and correlated them to suit my profile. On the technical front, I read about the job profile and spoke to three other acquaintances who worked at Bosch to find out how their technical interviews went. I proceeded to also prepare for technical questions at glassdoor.com and brushed up on my Resume. I was interviewed by two engineers i the department I was to work for. It lasted for an hour and was purely technical. They mentioned that they would let me know of the outcome in two weeks time. After much calling, emailing and leaving various voice mails, I was sent an email that they had hired someone else. From what I have experienced, my interview went off well. This is the right place to be if someone wants to be purely technical for a long time to come. I am not at authority to comment on work culture or the office since my whole experience at the company lasted only for an hour and a half at most.

      Question 1

What do you know about HCCI(homogeneous charge compression ignition) engines? Would you be able to explain the working principle and tell me why they have come under research scanners?
