      Customer Success Manager Interview

      21 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Box (Austin, TX) in May 2018

      Interview

A recruiter from their team contacted me on LinkedIn. We had a great conversation and she told me I made it to the next round. I then chatted with the hiring manager and I felt really good about the call. Two days later they asked me to come in for a presentation and another 3 hours or so of interviews. I def spent a lot of time on the presentation and did a lot of research. The recruiter sent me a calendar invite for the meeting but it had the wrong location info on it. I guess she added info for the California office. That made figuring it out day of a little stressful because I wasn't sure what floor they were on or where to park. Once at Box, I got a tour of the office and then had 4 more interviews. I thought I did well in my interviews but each person that interviewed me asked me the same questions, which I tried to give a different answer to each or say things a different way so it was unique but they should really try to mix up their topics for interviews. I then did my presentation which I didn't a lot enough time for as I never got a chance to get water or set up for the presentation so it started a little late. I thought it went well but then a week went by and I never heard from them. I sent an email to the recruiter and she sent a very generic "you're great but not for this role" email. It seems like if I can spend 4 hours at their office interviewing AND creating a presentation, they can at least explain to me why I didn't get the job or give me feedback.

      Interview

Screening call then denial, seemed to be qualified but told me that accounts managed were not large enough. I felt very confident about moving forward in after the initial call and was shocked when I got that feedback. Seemed like they were interviewing many candidates.

Interview process was pretty straight forward. There was a call with the recruiter, a call with hiring manager, a “super day” with calls with customer success team members and a presentation.

      Interview

The online application was pretty straightforward. They required a résumé and a cover letter. They ask the basic information in a few qualifying questions. I felt that is very qualified for the job however I did not get a follow up call. I did receive the standard thank you for your application email.
