Very disappointed with what I experienced yesterday... This was my second time applying for a job at BA, the first time around the employees conducting the assessment day were more engaged, more motivated about BA and even though the assessment day was harder back then, I still got through to the interview stage even though I was unsuccessful at the end of it! This time around I felt like we were all treated like cattle, being pushed through the process as quickly as possible, they weren’t encouraging at all! One of the employees working there called out someone’s name and in front of everyone said (the one who was late) I felt this was very unprofessional and could of been delt with in a different way by not embarrassing the person or being so rude!!
The group task and the role play was pretty straight forward so I was a bit confused why I didn’t get through... After this someone at the desk were calling people to come and get their documents back, they also asked me to sign in and out... I asked them if that meant I didn’t get through and they LIED saying “no only giving docs back, don’t worry about that” with that I was taken into another room to be told I WAS unsuccessful, such a terrible way of organising an important day like this!
They kept through people with tons of makeup on and hair down with hoop earrings?! One person even forgot to bring the right documents and still got through, thought you had to be organised if you want to be part of cabin crew?? If you do go and don’t get through to the interview, don’t feel to disheartened! I was stood next to these two lovely girls, who were already looking cabin crew ready... One had already worked for BA previously but moved to a different airline and wanted to come back. The other one is currernlty working for Emirates (BEST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD) and they both didn’t get an interview with BA either? Bit of jealously from BA’s part I think...
Overall not sure what BA are looking for, they told us all at the start of the day that each of us had a job so we’re not competing against each other, but how can that be true when they sent the majority of us home? There was about 25 of us on the day and only about 8 got through for an interview?! Even when we got told we were unsuccessful they had an employee read a scripted bit of paper, who didn’t even make eye contact with us and said “we want you to go back and reflect on this” but they won’t be giving us any feedback about the day! Felt this was such a poor experience from BA and was so shocked about the sort of people they turned away!.. I won’t be applying for this position again for BA as I feel they’re going down hill as a company and maybe I’ve had a lucky escape considering how they were treating people yesterday, embarrassing!
