I interviewed with CAP Index and initially met with the Vice President of Operations and Administration before advancing to a second round with the Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President, who the role would support directly, as well as the Executive Director of Global Accounts.
The second interview was framed as me “interviewing them” and asking my questions. I came prepared with a detailed list covering work style, priorities, gaps, and how this brand new role could best support them. They were highly engaged, repeatedly commented on the quality of my questions, and noted that no one had ever asked many of them before. We even went over time due to the strong rapport.
I was told I would definitely hear back by the end of the week. I did not. A polite follow up email the following week received no response, and I never heard from anyone at the company again.
Choosing another candidate is completely understandable. Ghosting a candidate after two interview rounds with three senior leaders is not. It is unprofessional, disrespectful, and a poor reflection of how the company values people’s time.
