      IT Director Interview

      22 Dec 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Richmond, VA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Dec 2018

      Interview

Phone screen, followed by the math & comprehension online tests. Then an in person Power day that consisted of 2 job fit interviews (one with hiring manager, 1 technical screen), 2 behavioral interviews with peers, 1 case study. Offer was made the next day and accepted the day after.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Basic “tell me a time when” for behavioral interviews. Tech screen was regarding the industry, person interviewing was very smart and wasn’t looking for architect type knowledge for a people leader role. Case study was straight forward - make sure you’re interacting with the person as its not just about getting the right answer but how you get there.

      Information Technology Director Interview

      29 Mar 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2017

      Interview

      1) Contacted by recruiter. 2) Phone screen by recruiter. 3) Phone interview with a manager. 4) Turned down because I was perceived as not technical, although I have extensive technical experience and my resume elaborates on it. Not a single technical question was asked. My perception was that there was a bias against women in IT, particularly non-Asian women.

      Question 1

I was asked about my management experience.
