Interview
After sending the resume, I received an online assessment from a third-party company that Capital One employs.
The assessment was quantitative (it also included a "qualitative section with general personal questions) and included 7 questions.
These questions require knowledge of several formulas, such as break-even, project sales, and conducting a cost-benefit analysis between 2 options.
The quantitative assessment is timed at 30 minutes.
Some questions are ok once you know what to do, and some questions are challenging and contain A LOT of information.
Interview questions [7]
Question 1
1. You make a change to your business model and add another employee and you need to calculate how many weeks would it take until the investment you've made (labour hours, infrastructure changes, training hours, reduced production in the first few weeks, etc.) to pay off and make a profit?
5. You receive a problem scenario with 3 information bullet points and must select which combination of information bullet points you need to solve the problem.
6. A story about two bikers that leave from 2 different locations and try to reach a destination, and you need to calculate which biker will reach the location first and in how many hours. These are not static variables, as the speed of each biker changes throughout the journey.
7. You're given a scenario with many details and you need to calculate what contribution margin percent is required to hit the company's income goal that is stated in the scenario.
Recruiter Call, Mini Case and then a power day with 2 case studies and 1 product case study. Process was overall smooth. Appropriate documents and resources were provided to prep for the interview.
The interview was based on 3 phases. First was screening on call then a video interview with mini case then a power day with 3 phases including product interview, case based and economics based.
First, Screening call: the HR simply walked you thru the interview process and schedule the next round of interview - mini-case. I haven't done the mini case yet. Mini case, just search online for potential cases and prepare for it.
