I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Citi (London, England) in Nov 2011
Interview
There were two rounds in the interview process. Before this there was CV screening and competency tests. The first round consisted of 2 or 3 half an hour interviews and another competency test. The assessment centre that followed was 4 half an hour interviews with a piece of group work and an individual presentation. There were a few brain teasers but many questions regarding motive for joining the industry and current market activity.

Question 1
If you have a chess board and two of the corner squares are removed and then you had dominoes where by each domino filled two squares of the chess board, with these pieces removed could you completely fill the remaining chess board squares with no gaps.
I had my first-round interview last week, and it was entirely behavioral besides "Why Citi?" and "Why S&T?" Very straightforward questions about life experiences: When was a time that you put a lot of time/effort into something and it did not work out? What did you learn from it?

I applied online. I interviewed at Citi (Hong Kong) in Mar 2026
Interview
Roughly 4 rounds. One is the Automated filtering which leads to a psychometric test/behavioural test. If you pass, the next is a first stage interview with other candidates. You have to read some sentiments and present trade ideas and critique yourself/each other. The next interview is the final one where you meet MD/VP + Trader for a rapid markets test and fit test. Be alert with the current markets news and research deeply on all asset classes to be well prepared.
