CitiusTech Python Developer interview questions

from my project they asked me to write code for authentication service ,in python to count the characters in string in dict format ,no inbuilt functions should be used ,find the duplicates in a list ,in sql they have given some questions like to update tthe table,one query is executing 1000 times ,how can i reduce the query times to get executed .
