I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Electronic Arts (Vancouver, BC) in May 2009
Interview
I cant remember if I applied or they proactively sought me out. EIther way, an initial phone interview went well, and they then flew me to Vancouver Canada for a series of interviews with members from different teams. I was enthusiastic about the position, but I was nervous as I really wanted it, and made a few faux pas in my answers, that I tried to recover from, but I could tell they were not impressed.
Some of the personal questions I thought I handled very well, but they had some specific technical questions which were more in the realm of things I had done years ago, and frankly I was unable to give good answers. Looking back now I should have prepared better on the OO side of things, as well as taking some basic pseudo coding tests, but I didn't, and if I was them I would not have offered me the job either.
In fairness the reason they gave is that I was not right for the role they were looking for. I think I may have gotten a similar role there, but my current employer was generous, and I think they reckoned I was too expensive given the fact that not all my answers were great.

Interview
The process started with an initial call from HR where we discussed my background, interest in EA, and general fit for the role. After that, I had a technical phone interview that focused on coding challenges, system design, and problem-solving.
Once I passed that stage, I was invited to a virtual interview loop with several team members, including senior developers and a hiring manager. Each session explored different aspects—technical depth, code review, design thinking, and collaboration.
They also assessed how I approach real-world development scenarios and how I communicate in a team setting. The final step was a conversation with the team lead, which centered more on vision, culture, and expectations. Overall, it was a thorough but engaging process.

Question 1
One question that stood out was when they asked how I approach debugging a complex issue in a live environment. They wanted to understand my process, how I prioritize under pressure, and how I communicate with the team during high-stakes situations.

Rather fast, took one week from the application to the interview. The hr people were really nice and everything went smooth. During the interview I was asked mainly c++ underlying structure questions.

Got an HR interview one day after application. Asked me if I can do interview ASAP. Scheduled an H&M interview one day later. After introduction, was asked the question why us. The hiring manager was quite arrogant and not happy with my answer. Kept interrupted me.
