I applied for the Senior UX Designer – Visual Design & Brand Systems role at Hotels.com (Expedia Group).
The process started with a recruiter from US (based in Seattle) reaching out to me on LinkedIn. After several reschedules and even a no-show, we finally managed to have the initial screening call. The conversation itself was straightforward and professional, and afterwards the recruiter even sent me a detailed prep email for my upcoming interview with the Director of UX Design (the hiring manager). He asked me to provide my availability so they could confirm the interview.
I shared my availability right away, but that’s where the process ended. No confirmation, no updates, no feedback — nothing. Despite sending a polite follow-up and even reaching out on LinkedIn, I never heard back from the recruiter again.
For such a large, global company, this was a very disappointing experience. It’s frustrating to invest time and energy into the process only to be ghosted, especially after being told to prepare for the next stage. Candidates deserve at least a basic level of communication and closure.
