The recruiter reached out and asked if I was open at a very specific time in the middle of the day. My current job is a big meeting heavy, and I wasn’t available then, so I replied back saying I wasn’t available then and gave a bunch of availability. The recruiter replied back asking if it was I available at the same time that I just told her I wasn’t open at. Not the brightest tool in the shed. I told her again I was not open then and provided more availability. Then I did not hear back for a week. I followed up, and after a few days I was told that the hiring manager didn’t like my background so the recruiter won’t be speaking with me. This is insanely rude in two aspects - 1) don’t reach out to candidates who your hiring manager hasn’t approved of and 2) don’t keep pushing for a time if the candidate is unavailable then! This was for a job at their corporate offices. Really unprofessional.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gap Inc. (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2013
Interview
it was very technical and there were 3 rounds and had to face 3 rounds. All of them technical. Also, last round was HR where the salary negotiation was very hard and there was not really much flexibility
