Just before I start; I don't want to sound bitter because they didn't advance me, this is just my honest feedback from the process.
I am currently employed, and a Senior Internal Recruiter from Gartner reached out to me, to see if I would be interested in the role. I agreed as I have previously interviewed with Gartner, and pulled out to accept my current job.
I am aware of the process; had a phone interview, which progressed to the competency interview 1:1 with the recruiter. This interview went well, She asked for a brief run through of my history, then asked questions that aligned to the "Gartner Traits" and how I had influenced deals, where things had gone wrong, how I corrected them etc.
At the end of the interview, she asked me if I had questions. One of my questions was about my performance in the interview. She said I perhaps lacked slightly in the strategic selling, which was "absolutely not a barrier for entry" and they could teach me where I was lacking.
Fast forward to Tuesday. I received an EMAIL, thanking me for my hard work, but they were not progressing me because I lacked in "strategic selling".....The aspect that was not a barrier for entry, became the barrier.
I replied thanking for considering me, and asked if there were any roles at Gartner that I would be suited for.....I have been ignored.
My issue is not being rejected. My issue is, YOU reached out to ME, and if this were a 20k a year job where thousands apply, I would understand an email. This is a 70-100k role; and the fact that you couldn't take 2 mins to call, and tell me, speaks volumes.
It is such a shame, I thought better of Gartner.
