I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gartner in Aug 2024
Interview
This was my second time in 3 years interviewing for the same position. Basically you interview with HR in a 3 step process before you get to speak with anyone in the business . At least this time unlike 2021, I was notified within 3 days they would not be moving forward. That being said , not sure what specifically they are looking for in a candidate as the role definition or decision criteria was very vague . My impression is they have HR (BTW -same lead HR recruiter involved ) do interviews but no real job exists until one of the current AE gets fired . But HR recruiting gets to count these interviews as activity . OTE / Benefits was mediocre at best . Maybe okay for entry level sales person to gain experience and then move on .
It was long and rigorous, often feeling extremely high pressure, with not a lot of constructive criticism. There are 5 rounds and each with a role-play. It's safe to say this is not an easy interview process. I'm not sure how they do their prospecting, but I was apparently a 'great fit' for the role - didn't show that enthusiasm during our calls.
Intensive - multiple rounds led by a recruiter. Expect 2 rounds of role play, around 4 rounds total. 2 with a recruiter, one with a lead skills expert and another panel with VPs and hiring managers.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner in May 2026
Interview
30 minute phone call with recruiter. Next is 1 hour with recruiter about your background, behavioral questions. Then 1 hour with LSA with questions on your background and a role play.
