Interview
The process has recently changed. My interview at GA was very thorough and well put together back when hiring managers had more say in the process. I got to meet the team, had to give a presentation, got a solid tour, and was given very difficult questions. Now the managers must have an HR representative there at all times, team members don't get to meet the interviewees, no lunch with team members, and the presentations only get a few select managers rather than the team you'll be working with. Really they have made the hiring process less selective and it shows in the level of competence that has been degrading over the last few years.

Question 1
What is the difference between verification and validation?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at General Atomics in Oct 2025
Interview
Applied on LinkedIn. Got a random email that I had an interview scheduled in 2 days, no recruiter reached out to me for a screening or discuss any prep. Easily the worst interviewers I’ve ever had, asking ridiculous 5-part questions, had zero enthusiasm and I was completely turned off in the first 5 minutes of speaking with the two interviewers. I had already accepted a much higher level position with a better company in the same space, but I took the interview out of courtesy and because you never know what can happen. I should have just declined the interview, would have saved me a headache. This interview completely changed my perspective on the company.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at General Atomics in Jan 2024
Interview
Phone Screener to gain insight to past experience, salary expectations, and comfort with expected job requirements. Reviewed resume, location, education and experience to determine compatibility in addition to a basic understanding of benefits and company expectations for travel, teamwork etc.
