      Inbound Success Coach Interview

      22 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Berlin) in Oct 2020

      Interview

Overall, the interview experience for me at Hubspot was mixed, with both positive and negative aspects. I originally applied for the role of Business Development Representative, but was contacted over E-Mail and then a telephone call with a Recruiter who suggested me for the Inbound Success Coach position. The first call with the recruiter I was asked general HR questions and why I wanted to work for Hubspot & a sales position. I was moved onto the next round and sent a detailed e-mail of what to expect in the next interview. Second round was a 30 min Zoom interview with the Inbound Success Manager based in Ireland within the same week as the first phone call. Also general questions - why Hubspot & sales, with few behavioural questions as well, such as asking what motivates me and my work style. Manager was nice to speak to & left room for questions as well. I received positive feedback the following day and was moved on to the next round. The next round was a product demonstration of the Hubpspot CRM platform with one of the Hubspot team members based in the Boston office. I received a list of instructions and links from the recruiter to prepare me for this step which was very helpful. The team member in Boston was very friendly and the product demonstration went well, which I also attribute to the great resources sent by the recruiter. Final round of interviews was scheduled for the next week - it consisted of 4 30 min Zoom interviews with different members of the Inbound Success Team based in Dublin and Boston. I received a detailed email again as to what was to be asked. The questions were behavioural type interview questions and was asked for examples. All team members were friendly and nice to talk to, and it provided some great insight to the Hubspot culture. Only issue was for one of the interviews the team member started prepping me to do a case study/product demo which was a mistake on their end. This was corrected immediately at the start of the interview, however it did leave me feeling nervous. I sent an email the day after the interview (Friday) thanking them for the opportunity and asked when I would hear from them. I received an email from the recruiter the following Tuesday with an email inviting me to a "feedback call" the following morning. The email was phrased in way that made it clear that I did not get selected for the position, but still had to wait an entire day for a 5 min phone call to confirm this. The phone call with the recruiter in itself was awkward with me having to ask what the feedback was. (Not humble enough & not enough clear sales desire). I had no problem with the feedback received, but was not happy with the end process of the interview as I not only felt left hanging, but after having put in a lot of effort throughout the application process , did not feel like a valued candidate. Overall, the process was quick and I was provided a lot of support throughout. I was mostly disappointed to how the entire process ended.

Hi there, thanks so much for taking the time to write a review and for the thoughtful feedback. One thing I know our team struggles with is ensuring you get feedback in a timely manner, but also that it doesn't catch our candidates off guard. In our experience, some candidates are comfortable getting an impromptu call with a decision, while others value the heads up and a scheduled call so that they can prepare for the conversation. Regardless, it sounds like we missed the mark on how we ended your process, so I appreciate the feedback as we think about how to best communicate interview decisions going forward. Thanks for investing so much time in getting to know our team and our company, and best of luck in your job search. -Becky

      Interview

I interviewed for HubSpot (Dublin) in March 2024. The overall process from application to offer took approximately 3 weeks. The initial stage is a a short Zoom call (approximately 30 minutes) with the recruiter assigned to the position, general questions including were asked within this screening call. The recruiter was extremely friendly and provided me with further details on the position including salary, day-to-day tasks, culture of HubSpot and career progression within this particular position. Following this was another 30 minute Zoom call with a manager. This was quite similar to the screening call, with similar questions as above. The manager was also very friendly and welcoming, and provided me with feedback on my answers that I could implement if I were to get into the final round of interviews. Following this was the final round of interviews, which included 3X30 minute zoom calls with the manager I interviewed with previously and two other sales managers. Each manager was very friendly and welcoming again, and showed genuine interest in my answers for each of their questions. The structure of these interviews and answers you provide were the most important, as the STAR process was expected to be used throughout my answers. The STAR process is extremely important throughout the entire interview process but specifically leaning towards the first manager interview and the 3x30 minute interviews. For this specific role, I would ensure that you have examples of targets that you have hit in your previous roles, and think of examples that helped you reached those targets. Make sure to include tangible examples, to ensure that the manager has a full understanding of the specific task/goal you are explaining! Overall my experience interviewing was nothing short of amazing. Any contact I had with the recruiter for the position was happy to help reiterating feedback and clarifying anything I needed prior to any of the rounds of interviews. The recruiter was really there to help me get the position, rather than just see me as another candidate or number on a page, so I felt like a very valued candidate throughout the whole process which was very much appreciated. From this experience, I am excited to say that I have accepted the position and I am looking forward to working with the sales team at HubSpot! :D

Muy buen proceso. Fueron cuatro entrevistas con preguntas situacionales, para entender, con ejemplos concretos, cómo reaccioné frente a ciertos escenarios. Cada entrevista evaluaba core values diferentes. Esto fue hace varios años.
