      Marketing Position Interview

      9 Apr 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I interviewed at HubSpot

      I applied online.
      The process took 1 week.

      Interview

Applied online and phone interview was scheduled within the week. I was told it would be a 45-minute interview. With no personal grudge, the facts are that the HR manager was the worst phone interviewer I have ever experienced. She asked only one question, which was to giver her a rundown of my career with no direction or specific questions pertaining to the actual position in conjunction with what they were looking for. At the 30-minute mark, she said, "I have to run to another interview, so I won't be able to answer any questions you have." I received a phone call 3 days later stating they were going to pursue other candidates - not a surprise given the incompleteness and tone of the interview. As much as I appreciated the actual phone call versus a generic email, the skill set of the interviewer was greatly lacking, which was astonishing given the company has such a great reputation for hiring very talented people. If you can get past the HR manager, you should do just fine, as I still believe this is an incredible company overall.
