Entry Level Front End Software Engineer Interview

      19 Oct 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Dublin, Dublin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Oct 2021

      Interview

The interview process was pretty straightforward. My partner referred me to HubSpot through their referral program at the end of summer 2021, and I was contacted by a recruiter fairly quickly. What came next was the online assessment (which is the same type as in other interviews where you deal with an API they give you access to and you have to manipulate the data and send it back). After completing the online assessment I was contacted by the recruiter ~6 days later and told I got through to the next round, the behavioral interview. This interview took about 30 min, and it was just a way to understand my experience and reasoning for applying. The interview was scheduled ~2 weeks from when I completed the challenge. After the interview, the recruiter kept in contact with me. I was asked to select when to have my potential interview (they do them in September and October, and I chose October). She also asked me to choose FE or BE. I chose FE. Since I selected October, I only received a note of going through to the next stage at the end of September, but in the meantime, I practiced for the potential interview anyway. Once I knew I was onto the next round, the coding interview, it was another 10 days before I did it. After the coding interview, I received the news I got the offer within the same week. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and the recruiter kept in contact with me throughout, answering all my questions. The coding interview was also really enjoyable and I had a sense the interviewers really displayed the qualities HubSpot appreciates. I really recommend them as a company and I am very much looking forward to joining!
