I was contacted proactively by an in-house recruiter about a role at HubSpot that almost exactly mirrored my current role. I had a very so-so call with that person, who didn't seem to know specifics about the role (team size, client group size, etc) and told me that it might be a week or so before I heard back from her. At the end of the first week, she said that she still had not reviewed candidates with the hiring manager. 12 days after that note, she reached out and said that they were moving forward with candidates whose experience was more in line with the role they were hiring for...which was my exact current role. Given that she had reached out to me for an interview, and that it took her weeks to get back to me, I was pretty unimpressed with their process overall. HubSpot has a great reputation so I'm hoping that this was just a bad recruiting experience, but I was really underwhelmed by how impersonal and disengaged this process was.
