      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nutanix (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

The interview process was simple. HR called in and set up a phone interview. Phone interview was not technical when I was told it would be (Strange). I was called onsite after phone interview for a 3 hour technical round (Strange). I worked 8 years in bay and never gave such short technical rounds. Moreover, out of those 3 hours 1.5 hours was techncial round and rest 1.5 non technical. Technical round 1 - The guy didnt knew anything about Networking and was askign networking questions. I had to correct him. In his defense, he knew he was asking wrong questions to which he accepted. I was asked networking and virtulization questions Technical round 2 - One single question on entwork troubleshooting and some linux. Other rounds were non technical. I knew I would be rejected as soon as I finished the last round. It was all over managers face. Basically, they did not know what they want, they dont want experience people join the team and think it will be expensive but there def something going on internally. 1. I was not challegned during the interview. 2 techncial rounds for a full time job ? thats weird 2. I was not given feedback as to why I was rejected. (They knew they had nothing ) because they had made up their mind. Having worked in the any area for 8 years I can easily tell what the team is looking for. Here the team doesn't know what they want. Theres no clear road map on how to build a great team. When asked about thsi manager did not have any answer. So my interview experience was quite sketchy from giving two technical rounds only to not getting feedback . Moreover whatever technical stuff I was asked was just basic. Gave me an impression they are doing a formality of interviewing. I knew I nailed the interview through and through and would still get rejected because I could feel whatever I mentioned above. I am glad I got rejected because I would not want to join a team where they dont know what they want , they dont know how to build a team or if there is any politics. I am glad I did not get it. They paved me a way for their competitors. Thats where I am going now.

      Interview

They wanted in-depth theory knowledge on virtualization concepts, Linux Commands, Operating System Concepts, Networking Concepts, etc. since their role also aligned with that. SREs will be in constant touch with clients troubleshooting issues, which require these theory fundamentals right.

In the interview, I was asked in-depth questions about CN, OS and Cloud. Also, there was a thorough review of my resume and my projects that I had mentioned in there
