      Customer Service Executive Interview

      24 May 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Rotherham, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pearson (Rotherham, England) in May 2024

      Interview

There was no interview. After the application, I received a call about two weeks later, and I was told that there's an online meeting that would take place in about 10 days where I and more people would have a sort of an induction and will be asked a few questions, it wasn't a Yes/No session, it was only to get acquainted as we all were shortlisted and had taken an IT test which was compulsory. Post this session, I received a call/email once a week for a job role, different from the one received before or to be in future, and I was told that I'll get a follow-up call in the call. It has been going on for about 3 weeks now, and each time I'm offered a new role, asked new questions on call and nobody reverts in the remaining days of the week. If I call them back on the same numbers, the calls are never answered. Instead, I've to call the main office and they have to mark "URGENT" to get the hiring team to call me back, which is due at the end of the working hours of the team, i.e. 4 pm. I've often received calls after 3, and then there's no room for follow-up on the same day. I wonder what "shortlisting" and "getting acquainted" meant if they are still taking interviews and had stopped taking any new applications in time. I never got the role I had initially signed up for.
