I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Rakuten (Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir) in Dec 2020
Interview
The interview was a bit slow but the interviewers were good. There were following rounds -
1. PPT
This was pre placement talk round in which the Rakuten family introduced about themselves and what they expect from us.
2. Online test
It was having general quantitative, logical, and verbal reasoning questions. Also, questions from data structures and algorithms, along with 2 coding questions.
3. Technical Interview
This included questions from DSA, DBMS, OS, Computer Networks, and Puzzles. And some students were given coding problems as well.
4. HR interview
This was pretty simple. They asked about introduction and general HR things.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. What is overloading and overriding?
2. Tree traversal problems
3. Complexities of sorting algorithms
4. What are views and how you have used them?
5. What is deadlock? How to prevent it?
I had 5 total interviews/calls in total - way too much time invested for an intern interview. Also, one of the interviewers was extremely rude and told me I was making no sense during the interviews but he was the one not paying attention (he did not have my resume pulled up).
The interview was conducted on a single day. The process was smooth and medium difficulty. Enjoyed the process. Mostly followed a casual conversation style. There were 2 rounds: One technical and One managerial.
Started with a simple recruiter screen and lasted a couple weeks. Had multiple interview with about 3-5 people. Lots of behavioral questions and communication was very clear the entire process. Very professional and kind people.
