      Principal Sales Engineer Interview

      10 Sept 2019
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (London, England) in Jul 2019

      Interview

Fairly swift and pleasant process start to finish. Started off with a screening call with the recruiter a couple of days after applying for the role. This was followed up by a face to face meeting with the hiring manager and their manager. Questions were mostly focused on getting to know me and my personality, why I’d chosen to apply for this role in particular and what interests I have. Time was given for questioning to go the other way also - important to remember that interviews are a two way street and you are also interviewing them! Both really personable and the conversation flowed freely - freely enough for us to overrun our planned time as we were enjoying the conversation so much! This was followed up by a panel interview with three senior individuals. Again, all very personable and inquisitive about my background, plenty of good questions about my chosen subject. Final was a phone call with the VP. Felt like a formality and went well - again, very free and open conversation both getting an understanding of each other. Offer was made within a couple of days which I accepted. Recruiter was in touch via phone and email all the way through the process keeping me updated and getting/providing feedback. After 20+ years in the workforce, this has been the best interviewing experience I have had to date.

      Principal Sales Engineer Interview

      27 Oct 2017
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (New York, NY) in Oct 2017

      Interview

I had 2 initial phone interviews followed by a panel based presentation/demonstration that lasted roughly 2 hrs. The whole process from the first interview to offer was less than 3 weeks. Very happy with it!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was interviewing for a Service Cloud role, so they asked what I would say if a customer asked 'I've just made a large investment in Cisco infrastructure in my call centre. If I choose your solution does that mean I just wasted my money?'
