I interviewed with a Senior Manager, an HR Director, and the Hiring Manager (Director based in the US).
The interviews with the Senior Manager and HR Director were professional, engaging, and provided a positive experience. Both took the time to understand my background and discuss the role.
My experience with the Hiring Manager's interview, however, was different. The interview began with the statement that there was limited time available and that we should "wrap it up quickly." As a result, the discussion felt very fast-paced, particularly during situational and leadership questions, with limited time to think through and explain my responses.
For senior leadership roles, I believe interviews should be a two-way conversation. Candidates should have sufficient opportunity to articulate their experiences, thought processes, and leadership approach, while also getting to know the hiring manager and team. In this case, I felt the interview was more focused on completing the discussion quickly than on having a meaningful conversation.
Overall, the interview process was well organized, but I believe the final interview could have been more conversational and allowed for a better mutual evaluation.
