I applied through university. I interviewed at Slalom (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2021
Interview
I had a great start to the recruiting process for the Slalom Summer internship process in Vancouver, but it ended in a fumbled mess making me feel like I may have gotten some insight into how Slalom conducts themselves and how they may not really stand by their values. This was their pilot program so may be why it didn't go as smoothly but I wanted to share some insights for other MBA students who are considering Slalom for their internship. They chose less experienced students (BCom vs. MBAs with years of work experience) - so be wary of investing your time with them.
- Misleading emails from the recruiter: emojis / happy faces asking to jump on a call to discuss whether or not you were selected for the role and "looking forward to talking with you" only to tell you that you weren't selected is highly unprofessional and something I have never experienced until I went through this process with Slalom
-The above call was scheduled over the span of 4 days. Leaving you with four days to anticipate whether or not you got the internship or not.
- Scheduled call: "Talent Acquisition" was over an hour late.
I went from being highly impressed with Slalom and instead experienced a long, drawn out recruitment process, which I can say was one of the worst I've ever experienced.
Just be aware that they hired two BCom students for their internship position over MBAs. Good news for BCom students!

Very positive and professional! The recruiters, consultants, and managers were all friendly, rooting for you to succeed, and very helpful! I have nothing but kudos for the process and the company.

The question was a hypothetical company that was undergoing the assimilation of its acquired companies. How would you best proceed with the assimilation as a consultant?
