I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2017
Interview
Process took 5+ months. Was first asked to complete a phone interview with a recruiter. Lasted about 45 minutes. Essentially, it was a get to know you interview and asked why you want to intern here and why you would be a good fit. If this interview goes well, you will then be invited to a F2F interview in Dallas (HDQ). This interview was roughly a half hour of questions and chatting. They will fly you down and back and potentially put you up in a hotel depending on your departure city and availability.
It was a one way interview software was rlly buggy and syas you can redo the videos if you mess up but you cant :(. All behavioural basic like why southwest, why this position specifically, how does your experience, course work and involvemnet align with this position, a time you had conflict.
Lots of STAR style questions that pertain to past experiences. The interview was primarily conversation based, and not intimidating at all, would definitely recommend in any department, even if nervous.
It was quick and easy. This was the first round and more of a screening to make sure I met the same requirements that were mentioned on the application. They only asked 3 behavioral questions.
