I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Spotify (Paris) in Feb 2021
Interview
Applied online, scheduled a call with talent acquisition.
Relatively usual question: technical background check, how do you work (team, alone).
Explanation of role and team.
Was told that by recruiter that he would recommend that I get moved on to next stage, but that it would ultimately be Hiring manger decision (fair).
Never heard back from them
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Spotify in Jun 2021
Interview
Usual Spotify experience. Quite chaotic process, interview dates and times were not always right and it is quite hard to understand what each step is about. Sometime it seems they are helping you to fail the interview rather than pass it.
After the interview the recruiter asked me if I was interested in getting a detailed feedback and I said I definitely was. After 4 follow-up emails and one month I stopped asking because no one was getting back to me. Quite unprofessional.
It was ok, but not the best interview experience.
Some of the interviewers framed the interview as "a discussion", but in actuality they have a very particular solution in mind and were not interested in discussing other solutions.
If they are only interested in that particular approach, then it would be better if they just asked about that technique directly. It was quite frustrating as their solutions weren't great themselves.
I imagine this is largely just inexperience on these particular interviewers though, and not really a reflection on the company. Still it was a little frustrating.
