I spent more time being interviewed by two different recruiters at TEKSystems than I did by the company that was hiring. I spent literally all day talking to the recruiters about the job, lined up an in-person interview and on my way to the interview, the recruiter called an said the hiring manager had to cancel. They were able to get a phone interview lined up for the next day which happened and went well.
The hiring manager said he wanted to meet me in person so the recruiters tried to line up a meeting a couple days later. The day before, they weren't able to get a hold of the manager and it was 10am, the day that the interview was supposed to happen when I got a call from the recruiter and he said that I didn't get the job. They were offering a minimal pay increase for a commute triple that of my current one.
Over-all it was a lousy experience and I felt like I had to run in circles and jump through hoops to try to get this job. Maybe if I'm unemployed and I have the time to talk to the recruiters I would consider using them again.
