1. Online Test (TCS National Qualifier Test / TCS NQT / TCS iON)
Most freshers start with this. The online test usually has three sections:
Quantitative Aptitude & Logical Reasoning
Questions on arithmetic, algebra, probability, percentages, time & work, speed & distance.
Logical reasoning includes puzzles, seating arrangements, coding-decoding, series, and patterns.
Verbal Ability / English
Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms/antonyms, reading comprehension.
Programming / Coding (for IT roles)
Basic programming questions (C, C++, Java, Python)
Simple coding problems, e.g., array manipulation, string handling, recursion.
Duration: Usually 1.5 – 2 hours.
Passing score: Varies by role and year; clearing this moves you to the next round.
