I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2020
Interview
Recruiter call describing position, leading to an on-site interview of two back-to-back 45 minute sessions. Recruiter went on vacation soon after booking, so was unavailable for support.
First interviewer was for product sense, and was nice, collaborative, and respectful.
Second interviewer was hiring manager. Standard behavioral questions, but hiring manager walked in with a cold, and appeared annoyed during interview.
Why Thumbtack? How do you motivate teams with low moral? What qualities do you think make a perfect Product Manager? How did you handle disagreements with Technology?
We really appreciate this honest review of your interview experience. It's important to us that all candidates feel welcome throughout the entire process, and we're disappointed this wasn't the case for you. We'll be passing along this feedback to the appropriate team, and wish you the best in your future career.

Interview
I met with the recruiter to discuss the role, I have never had such a negative experience with a recruiter before. She was incredibly disengaged, checked out, and overall rude. This was a big red flag for me and I declined to continue in the process.
We're sorry to hear about this. We want each candidate to have a great experience throughout the interview process and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Interview
Recruiter screen, initial interviews w/product sense session, and analytics problem. Second session w/product presentation, another product sense session, and meeting with the hiring manager. Seemed to follow the Google interview format. It was pretty well explained and scheduled with good communication.
