I am based in Singapore, someone from Uber recruiters, sent me a message telling they have a position in Singapore which, they think, is a suitable role to me and asked me to take analytics test, they didn't share the job description even I asked for that. However, I have taken that 2 Hrs test, next day I got an email stating I didn't clear the test, I was little surprised because I didn't screw up the test, convinced myself thinking they might have very high cut-off to select a profile.
Later on, I've found a suitable position in Singapore through Uber careers site, applied for that and reviewed my submission in the dashboard, that is where I have seen the shocking thing. In my previous interview previous, they sent me that analytical test for a position based in Jakarta, Indonesia (stressing here, HR sent a message telling it was for a Singapore based position). In my 10+ years of my experience, I haven't seen any such sarcastic prank, fraud, ridiculous and insane thing in the interview process. It clearly indicates that Uber wants to gather the ideas to explore the options to expand their business and run it with minimum cost, by sending analytics test to the wide group of experienced people in which aspirants will be asked to give strategic ideas to expand Uber's business.
If you are really great, don't worry, Uber is not for you. Just ignore their test, if you want to attend, do not give any answers to their strategic questions, because there is no basis to say whether a strategy is good or bad, there is no way that they can qualify you based on your strategic answers especially in the first round where they mass filter the applicants, strategies that you share are the ideas which they want to capture, do not share your ideas for free. let them hire you for that..
I do not say 100% of the times, they cheat you, but one such sample, as I described above, will prove how bad the management is, just proves no place for business conduct, mutual respect, equal opportunity.
