      Service Incident Manager Interview

      20 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Manchester, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vodafone (Manchester, England) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I felt valued as a cadidate throughout the application and interview process. The recruitment team were excellent and called on a number of occasions to keep me informed of the progress of my application. They also gave me candid feedback following my interview, which I appreciated (rather than given a fluffy response). The hiring manager was also friendly and facilitated the process in a way that allowed me to feel at ease and answer my questions confidently. I felt that the formal competency based questions towards the end of the interview were slightly too 'corporate' (aligned to the 'core Vodafone values') and not as specifically relevant to the role as I was expecting, which caught me by suprise, however the hiring manager did his best to allow me to answer the questions, probing further when necessary for more detail. Regretfully, I spent more time talking about my future aspirations than displaying a keen interest in the role had applied for, which understandably didn't do me any favours, and I didn't get the role. Ironically, I was hoping to show an interest in staying with the company for the long term, but I appreciate I didn't go about this in a smart way.
