I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Fayetteville, NC)
Interview
Basic interview questions and answers. A lot of paperwork to fill out but the Asst.Mgr hiring me was throughly familar with it and all my questions were answered. Available schedule (yours) is really important as a minimum of 16 hrs is required to work here. 3 shifts possible but you'll get assigned to the 1 your available schedule is open to. It really IS up to you to stand firm on available hours you can work. I have another full time 1st shift job and only had 2nd shift available hours; yes, I got assigned to 2nd shift.
Any area, section, department you do get assigned to is usually set for a minimum of 6 months. Transfers to other departments are available but both your Asst. mgr. + the mgr where you want to transfer into need to want you there. But filling out your Career Preference (in your personal acct/accessible while on the clock & usually when you're on break) can get you transferred to another department even if your current mgrs want someone else as a lateral move. Mgmnt advancement is open to anyone. Keep your Career Preference info current and check often for openings.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Absolutely none; generally what you'd expect in an interview except they wanted to hire me after reviewing my online application. I'm not stellar by any means but if you want to work, both solo and on a team this is a good company to do it with.
Phone interview and then asked to come in for in person interview. The hiring manager asked typical interview questions. Why do you want to work here? And asked bout scheduling availability,
There was a lot of questions but overall it went pretty decent. They were your standard interview questions. I am happy with the outcome but maybe I could do better next time.
Solid and very well informative process. It was straightforward and well put together. I really enjoyed the people that I interacted with and ultimately chose another route due to time constraints.
