The initial rounds of my interview with Wells Fargo were professional and positive. The recruiters and early interviewers were engaged and respectful, and I felt encouraged about the opportunity.
However, the final interview with the hiring manager was discouraging. He mentioned that the college graduates he recently hired were a “stretch,” and implied that I would also be a stretch despite my background. When I highlighted my sales experience, he made a dismissive comment comparing it to car sales, which did not reflect the level of sales work I have done.
This interaction left me questioning the culture and professionalism of the team I would have been joining. While earlier interviewers represented the company well, the final stage did not align with those positive impressions.
