      Project Engineer Interview

      5 Jul 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Wipro in Sept 2011

      Interview

There was a date fixed for the recruitment process and about more than 800 students attended it in my college. During the pre-placement process, are 4 rounds in the placement process. I had to clear a written test in the first round of the Selection Process. The test included verbal/vocabulary, aptitude and technical as the 3 different sections and the cut-off was like a minimum of 75 percent of the questions to be correct. The second round was rather unusual as we were required to write a short essay on a given topic and the reason behind this was to help them in filtering even more candidates based on written skill. 90 percent of the candidates moved on to the third round which was the most important and demanding of all - the Technical Interview process where I was tested in problem solving, aptitude, technical subjects, reasoning and how I react to the outcome of the process. I was initially told by my interviewer that I crashed the interview and when asked why, he said that I must improve my reasoning skills. I smiled, shook hands with him and when I reached for the door, he called out to me, grinning wildly as he said that I was selected halfway through the interview and that he had tested my patience and attitude! The Final Round was a normal HR Interview where I was asked personal questions and as to why I needed the job and why I chose Wipro. After answering them reasonably, he asked me to check the results next morning and wished me good luck. There was a major delay in processing the delay and that night the results came out and I got selected.
