      Associate Product Manager, Tools Interview

      24 Mar 2016

      Pleasanton, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Workday (Pleasanton, CA)

      Interview

I applied online without any response. I'd heard a lot of good things about Workday, so I tried once again at my university's career fair. That went well and they wanted me to come next day to our Career Center for an interview. I had conflict problems and let them know. I then had 2 phone interviews in the next month with a product manager and the manager of the entire APM program. They tested my PM and technical fundamentals. I felt that I had messed up the first interview, but I did well enough to be invited onsite. The onsite interview was maybe the best I’ve ever had - except that you have to arrive at 7:30am! But they really make up for it. The day consisted of breakfast, a Generation Workday presentation (Workday’s college program), recruiter meetings, an APM presentation, 6 interviews, lunch with q&a with Generation Workday employees, technical demo, product demo, and a last recruiter presentation. The day ends with a social where you eat dessert with Workday employees and other interviewees. They did a really great job selling Workday as a place to work - the free goodies and snacks helped as well! I heard back with a decision after a few business days.

      Question 1

I don't think I can get specific, but they covered all facets of technical product management.
