      Sales Development Representative Interview

      6 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Dublin, Dublin) in Jul 2021

      Interview

First I had a chat with a recruiter for 30 minutes and after that I had an interview with the hiring manager for 1 hour. The interview with the manager was quite simple as she was very friendly and just asked simple questions regarding my background. The recruiter's English accent was very poor and that made it difficult to understand her.

      Sales Development Representative Interview

      4 Apr 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2020

      Interview

Surprisingly unprofessional at times and a bit unempathetic. Got through to final stage with four interviewers. Couple negatives I experienced: - One panelist didn't show up (no communication that they weren't attending so I was waiting in the meeting room for 15 minutes till I got an email). - Wrong brief given to me in preparation for the role play. While you should never script an entire scenario, I had prepared quite a bit on the structure so to be told it would be an entirely different department and person in the role play was a bit disappointing. It's already stressful interviewing remotely, unprofessionalism just makes it harder. - Feedback on the roleplay was surprisingly poor. I asked the interviewer after the roleplay what would they have done differently - they told me nothing, it was great (nothing is perfect, not sure why he didn't say something). When I told I hadn't gotten the position, their feedback was that I spoke too much on Workday (it sounds like sour grapes, but I genuinely spoke about Workday for less than 2 minutes of the entire call because I didn't understand much about the offering). - Basically felt like I was a "backup candidate", they had already selected another candidate and it felt as though they went through the motions with me. That's a normal part of interviewing, but you would expect to have the correct brief and for constructive feedback to have been given (based on my role play, not generic feedback). - That being said, the hiring manager was a lovely guy and we had a great conversation. While no one was unkind, it seems like they don't put much effort into the hiring process once they have another candidate in mind.

      Question 1

The hiring manager will make an effort to get to know you beyond the basic why sales, why Workday (even though they will be asked). Motivations in life outside of sales, etc.
