Everything seemed pretty normal. Met with the recruiter for a quick call. He discussed background on the role, the company, and what to expect moving forward. He was super transparent actually and got me very pumped for the role. Honestly, he partially convinced me to really give it my all. He seemed super into my background and experiences as well. From there met with the Hiring Manager. Didn’t really feel like an interview, more of a conversation. It seemed to go well and he seemed interested in moving forward too. He walked through what to expect moving forward, talked about my travel interests and preference between 2 roles at Workday which was very encouraging. Responded to my thank you note and everything was bright. He said he hoped I’d be around for the next few weeks. Well.. here I am… where is workday? Ghosted. 0 response from recruiter and it’s been more than 2 weeks since my follow up email. The nerv of Workday or any company for doing this it’s arrogant, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Then I noticed many other workday interviews that had gone the same way online here and on Fishbowl and realized ah… those adjectives are just workday. This is what they do. Push their “VIBE” mindset everywhere they can to anybody they can then show 0 “VIBE” in actions. All talk (and sometimes no talk hah). Thanks

The interview process felt slow and disorganized, with multiple rounds that included a panel presentation. Communication from the recruitment team was inconsistent, and after investing significant time preparing for the final stage, there was little to no follow-up. As a candidate, you want to feel that the effort you put into interviewing is respected, but instead the experience came across as frustrating and uncoordinated. Even while progressing through the stages, recruiter responses to questions were often delayed or missing entirely. The final presentation assignment felt unreasonable and poorly designed, leaving the impression that it was more of a free service than a fair assessment. Overall, the lack of transparency and timely communication made the process disappointing. Clearer updates and more respect for candidates’ time would have made a meaningful difference. What was originally positioned as a fast-moving, exciting opportunity dragged out for months and ultimately felt like an unnecessary drain on time and energy. Interviewing is a two-way process: candidates evaluate the company just as much as the company evaluates them. Unfortunately, my experience has shown me that Workday is not a place worth investing that energy. While their culture was once considered a strong selling point, my firsthand experience has discouraged me from pursuing future opportunities there. I believe there are other companies far more deserving of the time and effort to build your career in.
