      Automation Engineer Interview

      21 May 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2024

      Interview

      1) HR call 2) Scheduled a call with the Automation Manager from the US.(Basic Testing process, technical then about automation) 3) Technical round (Did ask for verbal technical nothing much in detail, more about the projects I have worked on) 4) Again with a team member in the US (basically to test agility) 5) Was meant to be a final round with the Automation Director in Ireland. (Good scenario questions, very practical based and basic technical, more about approaches to make) I was told to have 5 rounds and after this, I was been called and told that there would be one more round with the team Manager as he had newly joined the team and was not part of the process. 6) With the Team Manager in the US, Few technical questions, then scenario-based. overall he sounded happy and said "Welcome to workday" Again got a call from HR and still they want to do one more Technical round as they want to be 100% sure. I went for 7th round - core technical. The whole process from 1st April 2024 to 21st May 2024. Initial few rounds I felt the VIBE culture but then the prolonging started. I am fine to get rejected but the mental harassment is not good. They kept on dragging and round after round for nearly 1.5 months. If you feel the candidate is not good technically then please filter them out in the technical round. Not in 7th round. Overall it's just my experience which turned out to be disastrous but please don't judge based on it. It may be good for you.

      Automation Engineer Interview

      5 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Workday (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2025

      Interview

The first round was a quick phone call with a recruiter. The second round was a 30-minute interview with a manager. The manager was 10 minutes late, so the interview lasted only 20 minutes. The questions were standard, mostly about the tools used on a daily basis. My impression was that the manager is very conservative, and if your experience differs from their beliefs, you won’t be considered a good fit. Alternative opinions or experiences are not appreciated. For example, the manager asked where I design test cases. In my company, we don’t use TestRail or Zephyr — all test cases are created in Jira under specific stories. The manager interrupted me and said that stories are only for developers’ features. There was also a question about troubleshooting issues in GitLab Actions. After I shared my experience, the manager responded with, “I don’t need knowledge from books.” I still don’t understand what that was supposed to mean. I would have expected a manager at a company of this level to communicate more effectively...
