Interview
nothing much, just been asking about personal experience. I interviewed with the principal scientist, she was nice and kind and goes through the process very nicely. She also asked questions based on my answer and try to get to know me more.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zeno Power (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2025
Interview
I applied online. The process took two months, although that was actually slightly delayed due to my own schedule, they would have been faster. There was a Teams interview with a recruiter, then a hiring manager, and then a 2-hour panel interview with three engineers where I was asked to present past relevant work experience. Then we talked benefits and negotiated salary, and finally they flew me out to Seattle for an in-person interview with the hiring manager... and two more senior people on Teams. I received an offer for 150k, which I ended up declining due to the heavy pressure and expectations of 'Startup culture' which were emphasized in the final interview.
The entire process was pretty smooth. Just not the right option for me at this time.

Question 1
Tell us about a time you had to work outside of or without established procedures at your current position?

Interview
Started off well, but did not end as well. Recruiter was initially proactive in setting up initial phone screen and was very informative about the company during the intro call. However, the subsequent steps seemed to be bumpier and at times I had to proactively reach out to recruiter to schedule next steps (and this is after already being told there would be next steps). Made it to final panel interview, which involved presentation and 1:1s with panelists. I didn't get an offer, and while that was a bummer, the real bitter taste left in my mouth was from being informed via automated message with no feedback (only triggered when I asked recruiter about application status 2 weeks after panel interview). I would have hoped with all of the time and effort invested on my part in the interview process and making it to the final round that a little more feedback from the company on their decision wouldn't have hurt.
