I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2012
Interview
I initially contacted the company through a university job fair. After a week, they emailed me two coding questions (data structure, string manipulation) and asked me to write functions to solve each. Once my answers were reviewed, I was invited for an onsite interview which consisted of 3 back to back technical interviews that lasted about 1 hour each.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write code for insert and delete for a trinary tree.
Two sets of interviews:
First of which was an hour interview with most of it being technical and some behavioral.
The second was two sets of one-hour interviews very similar to the first.
Took a bit longer than expected to get back to me.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Sept 2021
Interview
The recruiter reached out because of a referral. Scheduled a 1-hour phone screen a week later. Leetcode style question and behavioral question related to the company's key value. Around a week later moved to onsite. Onsite is back-to-back 1 hour technical + behavioral. Very engaging interviewer, provided me hints and directions. Solved 2 LC questions on each one. Heard back from the recruiter through a phone call 4 days later.
met recruiter through career fair, had two standard phone screens with easy to medium level leet code questions, time at beginning to introduce yourself and some resume items, time at end to ask questions
