I worked at Edelman full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - work life balance compared to other companies - decent colleagues (mostly) -people dont pick fights unnecessarily

    Cons

    - Hiring standards have gone down. Earlier people with certain personality and education were hired but now all kinds of people are being hired for cost cutting measures - No management oversight for several teams so nobody knows what's happening - Agency is not able to match up to its competition and is doing nothing about it - Too much politics and too little action - Management frequently lies to juniors to retain them only to kick them to the curb later - People with poor performances are given promotions but intellectuals are ignored due to insecurity of others

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I respectfully, but firmly, disagree with you on our hiring standards. I've seen us become more open minded about they type of work backgrounds we're seeking, which could translate to more intense onboarding needs, but that's ok and it's how we get diverse perspectives and ultimately the best client work. I also don't share your perspective on some other comments but we can agree to disagree. I see you spent more than five years with us. I hope you learned a lot and have some other positives take always from your time here and I wish you well in your future. Take care. Maria O'Keeffe, US Chief Talent Officer

I worked at Edelman full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good client base, part of a large international network (provides great opportunities for collaboration), good team management

    Cons

The company positions itself in the analytics and insights field but starting and 1 to 2-year-in salaries (although very reasonable) are closer to those of a communications company. Nonetheless, opportunities for growth are substantial.

Thank you for your review and I'm so glad you're having a good experience here. If you haven't already, I hope you'll take time to review the information I emailed to all employees this summer about our compensation and advancement philosophy and approach so you can see the process and thought that we put into setting salaries. I encourage you to reach out to your manager and/or local HR if you have any questions. Maria O'Keeffe, Executive Director, US HR
