Cons
Despite good opportunities for career growth in the Consulting workforce, most of the other workforces offer very little on that subject. In order to improve your career you have to be willing to sacrifice your work-life balance. If you are assigned to a role/client which doesn't expose you enough you have to actively work to find a better one, otherwise you'll have an hard time growing within the company. Depending on the work group it's possible that you're expected to do overtime work without getting compensation.
