Pros
The best think about Allstate is their commitment to the community! Great involvement with giving back - breast cancer walk, purple purse domestic violence campaign and a host of other great outreach opportunities throughout the year. People - Met some wonderful people on the first team I worked on. There are some great people at the company!
Cons
Very tenured population - many who have been at the company fresh out of high school or college and now 20-30 years have gone by and many are "stuck" on how things were done in the old days. The company is extremely hierarchical and I've seen many millennials leave to work for a more progressive company. The world is rapidly changing and if the company doesn't adjust, they will be left behind. People - though I met some wonderful people that I will be in touch with long term on my 1st assignment, on my most recent assignment, I've encountered some of the most dishonest, controlling, micro managing, manipulating, people that I've ever experienced in the workplace and business in general - unfortunately, they are given the title "Leader" within in Allstate and the culture continues to support the "good old boy" behavior. It's a company where professionals who choose to remain Individual Contributors can't really thrive, propser and move ahead in the company and have long-term vibrant careers. All of the "perks" are reserved for managers of people. The company does not even share bonusues with employees who are below a "management" grade/band level.
