Pros
-Generous time off benefits including Vacation, Paid Time Off, unpaid time off, paid holidays -Small employee discount on items sold by Amazon (10% off on the first $1000, after that nothing) -Several medical/dental benefit options -Guaranteed minimum hours of pay each week (18 hours) -Good pay compared to similar positions at other companies.
Cons
-Except during peak season, hours can be few. Currently most people are working about 16 hours each week in my location. -Full time opportunities are few and far between in my facility. -People promoted into supervisory positions are often not qualified. Doing a task well does not make one a good leader. Being a loud person does not make one a good leader. -They say safety is #1 priority but that quickly goes out the window when it comes time to meet deadlines. People in leadership positions are often some of the worst offenders of safety rules. -Communication is downright horrible. The told everyone on night shift that we were working NYE and had to be there, but then failed to call everyone when they cancelled the shift. The told everyone about "The Offer" prior to peak, explaining that if we wanted to accept the offer after peak, we'd be given $2000 for staying through the first peak. Recent conversations with HR is that this will only be $1000 since we are part time. In a building that is more than 90% part time employees, why would they not mention this small detail before hand.
