Pros

Boeing is a leading aerospace and defense company with a global presence. Working at Boeing does not limit one to a single organization but opens doors to various divisions and projects within the company to carve a fulfilling career journey.

Cons

There's a reason why there's a lot of turnover within the HR and TA space. There's a lot of reinventing the wheel, i.e., job family alignment. There's a lack of transparency, there are a lot of dinosaurs that are not willing to adapt to new processes, there's a lack of trust with hiring managers. There are a lot of recruiters that lack knowledge, and unfortunately, they burn out because they are not set up for success. A good leader should be able to work with different personalities and communication styles. The ability to understand, encourage, and support team members' growth and success is a crucial leadership skill. Unfortunately, there's very little emphasis on that, and it's funny how they emphasize so much on DEI. A lot of companies have to have an emphasis on DEI so that they are compliant. It's a joke. A lot of folks just stick around because they're complacent - they have very little motivation to do better, make a difference, or give back. They're just waiting for time to retire and collect.

Pros

Easy going, nice benefits, free further education (masters/PhD). Great for an engineer starting out who needs to dip their feet in the pool of engineering for a few years and to get a great 401(k) match at the start of your career (compounding growth). Great for late stage career due to the benefits and solid enough pay in a low cost of living area

Cons

pay-scale lagging, no emphasis on learning new things, no punishment for people who are bad at their job. After working for 4 years, I feel like I should have jumped ship after 2. I haven't been given meaningful work that really challenges me in a while. Now I feel pigeonholed into staying because I have enough years of experience that I really should be considered senior, but I haven't been given work that reflects what I senior engineer should be capable of. Now I'm trying to jump ship before it's really too late. If I stay here another 2 years I think I will be genuinely unemployable and will have to stay at this company forever.
