Pros

benefits are standard, health, 401k, paid days offs... Unlimited sick days (even if your child is sick) for salaried employees.

Cons

Capital One didn't seem prepared to manage a staff virtually since the bulk of their staff is located in Virginia. As part of the HSBC acquisition it was difficult to stay up to date with the fast pace environment. Something as simple as phone etiquette during conference calls (one person speaking at a time) was a lost art; having a conference room in Virginia big enough to hold the required project team, with a phone (literally I was on calls that an iphone was being passed around to try and keep the conversation flowing. Tons of red tape for day to day operations, and the promotion process is unlike any organization I've ever worked for. You have to have a champion submit your request for a promotion, then IF you are selected for the "stretch" opportunity you work the role for at least 12 months, at which point you will be told if you get the promotion or not and that is when you will see the increase in salary.

Pros

Great place to work, particularly for development. People are kind

Cons

Not many cons -- there's good internal mobility once you are part of the company

Pros

Environment was good, food was decent, free food at my location (dont know if it was allowed but it was good)

Cons

The rittenhouse location is managed by a tyrant, he is an incredibly toxic man and upper management make it the most unbearable place to work. Andy will ask you to come in on days you're not scheduled, and then hold it over your head if you don't. Talks about employees behind their backs constantly. No respect enforced employees talked about each other all the time and there was even name calling in meetings, management did nothing. Worst place I've ever worked in my life frankly and affected my mental health in the worst way. Glad to be out out of there. The place itself has potential but the management at the Rittenhouse branch and above them is absolutely terrible in every regard.
