Pros

The company is great from a balance perspective. It really respects time off (never had issues getting specific time off and there are a ton of extra time such as federal holidays and monthly invest in your self days). It is a stable company, and I have not been afraid of loosing my job even when other companies are doing mass layoffs. The CEO is also great. He promotes a ton of transparency, especially horizontally, and is constantly looking to evolve the company.

Cons

Performance management is among the worst I have seen anywhere. It is based upon GE's stacked ranked performance management system (that even GE abandoned years ago). Essentially it forces you to compete against your direct colleagues for a handful of average and above average spots. I have frequently noticed that members of my team will throw me under the bus in order to further enhance their ability to get better reviews. Furthermore, you are compared to your immediate colleagues. If you work in a high performance area, the bar is often set higher meaning you are better from a personal development perspective to work in areas where the talent is lower. Additionally, the management layer is extremely bloated out, and I find that middle management often look to self justify their positions. They hold no real power, and do not participate in actually driving work forward, so they primarily serve as a way to insulate senior leadership from actual interaction with front line workers. Furthermore, I find that they often try to keep information secret until they can do a "big reveal" making it harder for front line workers to be more forward thinking. Finally, Capital one has a strong management presence. This is great from the perspective of significant management involvement, but if you get a bad manager, it will completely ruin your experience. It is very difficult to leave that manager without their strong support, and they can make your work experience "a living hell." While leadership is quick to chastise front line workers, a poor manager is often protected (I was threatened - "if you don't do exactly what I want I will make your life a living hell" - and sexually harassed, yet leadership protected her chalking it up to alcohol on multiple occasions).

Pros

Note- last year there was 2018, would not allow that option. Employee engagement always high priority.

Cons

Note- last year there was 2018, would not allow that option. Highly focused on sales vs service.

Pros

Environment was good, food was decent, free food at my location (dont know if it was allowed but it was good)

Cons

The rittenhouse location is managed by a tyrant, he is an incredibly toxic man and upper management make it the most unbearable place to work. Andy will ask you to come in on days you're not scheduled, and then hold it over your head if you don't. Talks about employees behind their backs constantly. No respect enforced employees talked about each other all the time and there was even name calling in meetings, management did nothing. Worst place I've ever worked in my life frankly and affected my mental health in the worst way. Glad to be out out of there. The place itself has potential but the management at the Rittenhouse branch and above them is absolutely terrible in every regard.
